Zac Power named a 2026 NECA NSW state finalist

There’s been a bit going on here over the last few weeks, so this is a quick rundown of where things are at.

Two state finalist nominations

Zac Power has been named a state finalist in the 2026 NECA NSW Awards, and not in one category but two. We’re finalists in both the Excellence Awards and the Small Business Awards.

One of our apprentices, Sky, has also been nominated for the Apprentice Award.

NECA is the peak body for the electrical and communications industry in Australia. The judging looks at the quality of the work itself, the standards a business holds itself to, and how the business is actually run day to day. It’s not a popularity contest and it’s not something you can talk your way into.

Being recognised across both categories at a state level, working out of a regional base in Cowra, means a fair bit to us. It comes back to how we’ve always tried to do the job. Proper system design. Full compliance. Clean workmanship. Answering the phone. Looking after people long after the install is finished. That approach takes more time and costs more up front, and it’s good to see it counted for something.

Sky’s nomination is the one we’re most pleased about. Good tradespeople are made over years, not months, and having that effort noticed early says a lot about where the business is heading.

Winners are announced at the ceremony in Sydney on Friday 4 September.

NETCC approved, and Cowra’s only supplier for the NSW Home Energy Saver loan

On the same theme of doing things properly, Zac Power is now NETCC approved.

NETCC is the national consumer code for new energy technology. It sets requirements around how systems are sold, designed, installed and supported, and approval is a hard eligibility condition for the government’s clean energy programs. It’s not automatic and not every installer holds it.

That approval also makes us the only approved supplier in Cowra for the NSW Home Energy Saver loan.

Here’s what that means in practice. Eligible households can access up to $15,000 interest-free, over a term of up to 10 years, with no fees. It can be used toward solar, battery storage, reverse cycle air conditioning, or EV charging. You pay the difference between the total system cost and the loan amount as your deposit, and the interest-free finance covers the rest.

If you’ve been holding off on an upgrade because of the upfront cost, this is the thing that makes it work. It’s worth a conversation to find out what you’re eligible for.
